Global 'Call to Action Summit 2015' adopts DELHI DECLARATION to end preventable maternal and child deaths


(31/08/2015) The two-day global 'Call to Action Summit 2015' concluded on August 29, 2015 with Health Ministers and heads of country delegations from 22 countries adopting the DELHI DECLARATION on 'ending preventable maternal and child deaths'. The declaration was developed as an outcome of the high-level ministerial conclave held on August 28 during the summit.


Ethiopia strides to improve maternal, child health


(28/08/2015) The exceptional leadership of the Ethiopian Government in the efforts to improve maternal and new-born health was commended by the UN H4+ Global Team mission that visited Ethiopia from 17-21 August 2015. The team assessed progresses made on maternal and new-born health as a result of interventions supported in the past two years by UN H4+ agencies – UNAIDS, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNWOMEN and WHO – with the government of Ethiopia. The interventions were supported through funding from the Swedish Government through SIDA .The delegation, also composed of partners such as the Ethiopian Midwives Association, Jphiego and EPS visited maternal, new-born and gender programmes at health institutions supported by the H4+.
