UNFPA stands in solidarity with midwives

His Excellency Mr. Rakoto Victor, UNFPA Ethiopia Deputy Representative, said at the Ethiopian Midwives Association (EMwA) 24th International Day of the Midwife (IDM) celebration on May 13, 2016 under the theme: Women and Newborns: the Heart of Midwifery held at the Harmony Hotel in Addis Ababa, UNFPA stands in solidarity with midwives worldwide and thank them for the life-saving work they do. The united nation population fund, salutes the contribution of all midwives to saving the lives of women, adolescent girls and newborns, sometimes under very difficult circumstances, in hard to-reach communities and in humanitarian settings such as refugee camps.

Ethiopian midwife Ms Yewbdar Lisanework won the 2016 midwives4all Award

The Swedish Ministry for foreign Affairs, together with the Embassy of Addis Ababa and the international confederation of Midwives, has honored Ms Yewubdar Lisanework at the Ethiopian Midwives Association (EMwA) 24th International Day of the Midwife (IDM) celebration on May 13, 2016 under the theme: Women and Newborns: the Heart of Midwifery held at the Harmony Hotel in Addis Ababa for excellence in Midwifery and outstanding contribution to maternal and newborn health in Ethiopia.The rewarded diploma, which is signed by Sweden’s ministry for foreign Affairs, Ms Margot maelstrom and Sweden’s Ministry for international cooperation Ms. Isabella Lovin Is presented to Ms yewbdar, at the event by His Excellency Mr Jan Sadek, Swedish Embassy Ambassador.
