Care of the preterm and low-birth-weight newborn World Prematurity Day - "Let them thrive"

 

Premature birth is a very serious health problem. Worldwide, 15 million babies are born preterm and more than a million die as a result. Babies who survive often have lifelong health problems such as cerebral palsy, vision and hearing loss, and intellectual disabilities. Reduction of maternal and child morbidity and mortality is achieved effectively due to the effort of the Association: Ministry

Dr. Daniel G/Michael chief of staff, state minister of Health office said at the 26th Annual General Assembly of the Association that was held on 6th of October 2017 with the theme “Communities demanding quality midwifery care” at Getfam Hotel in Addis Ababa, Minister of health is very proud of Ethiopian Midwives Association, because the goal of FMoH has been achieved effectively due to the effort of the association in reduction of maternal and child morbidity and mortality. Midwifery association is the only association that represent midwives in Ethiopia.
