UNFPA appreciated Ethiopia's efforts to ensure the economic benefits of women and the youth
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) announced that developing countries need more concessional financing so that they could attain the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals.UNFPA also appreciated Ethiopia's efforts to ensure the economic benefits of women and the youth.
Executive Director of UNFPA, Babatunde Osotimehin said that the Fund will provide the necessary technical assistance for developing countries so that they could utilize their domestic resources to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
UNFPA has been working in gender equality, population and development strategy in collaboration with different countries.
The Executive Director said UNFPA will also collaborate with Ethiopia in areas of reproductive health, family planning, women empowerment and related development areas.
He added that "... Ethiopia right now is building human resources for health so that every community in Ethiopia has somebody who looks after the household health."
Osotimehin further pledged that UNFPA will work with Ethiopia in reducing of maternal mortality and reducing child marriage.
